OK I have already read that 5 page long post about Civic types, but nobody ever clarified if the EK VTi was a SOHC VTEC or just a plain SOHC :? If it's just SOHC, im pissing that idea off and spending more quality time looking for an EG Si hatchback..

SOHC VTEC designed for fuel economy.
If there's a V in it, it has VTEC.

I just think he meant that generally if it has a V then it is VTEC - don't think he meant it has to have a V... :P

I'm sick of ppl dissing the D series so blindly. It ISNT DESIGNED for fuel economy, its just not designed for all out performance. Call it in between if u will. VTEC-E is DESIGNED for fuel econmy.. once again.

SOHC VTEC-E = 66kw
SOHC VTEC = 96kw
DOHC VTEC = 118kw

The EK VTi comes with a d16y8 - american made SOHC VTEC engine.

LOL vti-r? I couldnt afford the wheels let alone the motor

Im looking around 10-11,500. And it has to be from a yard atm as i'll most likely need to trade in my old car.. Vti-r is way out of my price range (at least going by Vic prices) :x

well i hate to admit it, but the SI is more fast than the VTi, i know this cuase i got my arse eaten by 2 Si's before.

But if you want fuel economy and a 'sunroof' then teh vti is ur thing .

Maybe an EG is a good idea? Dammit I dunno you guys have Civics give me your opinions! I really like both models, so unlike some people am not bias to one or the other. But I gotta say, if its gonna be EG it has to be DOHC.. Damn EK didnt make a DOHC except for the vti-r HOW BLOODY GHEY :?

Ok im done now bi!

Theo :D

Edit: Chi, dude just saw your car in the pic you posted in the gallery.. God damn im lovin it :D Ok somebody change the topic and make it "Buying an EG"!!!!!

is that ~$10-11.5k after the trade in??

cos really all u can afford is a nice EG.
Si are very hard to find at the moment.. they are mostly sedans.
or a really bad EK Cxi cos they are going for about $12-$13k

Good luck !

well if u want to but it from a dealer with ur trade in , itll cost about 10-12k, then when u trade it in should get it cheaper..

Or you can buy it privately for like 2k or so cheaper and sell ur 'POS' and see how much u can get it for...

Just ask dealer how much discount u can get first and see if its worth it ...

Yeah i'm going this week to check out some cars etc. Hopefully theres a few around 8-9 that way I can get some wheels while i'm at it..

Nuttz: Dont really want a CXi because they have window winders. Not good for a stereo install etc heh.. And I also get lazy :D

EG Si or VTi here I come!

madgrk

Danny: Nothin wrong with em, just that the next car I buy will be something with some "comforts" in it. And the winders on a window are right near the bottom of the door (i.e where a nice set of splits would go), therefore its harder to do an audio install with a large speaker :)
