View Full Version : Mechanics in every major city
i think there should be a sticky with details of mech addresses in every field in eveyr major city for honda, just like parts resellers.
it will help members to find out quickly a good mech to fix their car.
may be admin, mods, and senior members like to add mech, techs in this sticky.
for example if i want spings installed in melbourne, where should i go?
if i want head gaskit in sydney who is best with reaonble prices.

Good idea.
Of course we woul have to make sure that people don't post every mechanic on the corner of the street in the list but only reputable ones?
exactly, in that members will go direct to a mech or tech who knows his job well and would not be ripped off.
and one should be for BEAWARE MECHS too.
Maybe like an 'OH recomends' section with not only mechs, but body shops etc as well???

I don't think the Beware Mech is a good idea as it would be defamatory to the named businesses and doesn't fit in with ozhondas policies, i think :P.
But you first idea is a good one and from that you wouldnt need a beware one cause you would be picking the best mech's to use
ramble ramble
hummm, that true too, some people can start defamatory against some mech, tech for personal reasons.
better stick with recommended by OZHonda.
Sorry for OT: but i didnt think it was considered 'defamatory' if you are sharing a personal experience...?

I think that this is a really good idea. It is sometimes difficult to find quality individuals who know their stuff in the automotive world.

Well is it a good way for those who wants to compare experience in a Mech shop?

Yeah.....will definitely be only a 'recommended' shop kinda thing. ANd it will be purely the recommendations of the members and not Ozhonda or its moderators :)
My questions is how do we decide if the shop is recommended or not? Wouldn't a certain number of people have to vouch for it before it becomes 'recommended'?

put up a voting system =P.. and put points towards the shop.. instead of users =P... 1 point for a good review and -1 points for bad.. all reviews need explanation and be viewed by a mod before been accepted as a review. ie flamers who just want to bad mouth the shop?
maybe something as simple as a poll, then you get percentage of positive replies, plus number of people that have actually visited the shop....?
