Just wondering if anyone would know how well a standard ITR crankshaft would hold up at 10,000+ RPM? As well as a normal VTI-R one (I would be guessing it would be too weak)

I know there is a lot more that would have to be strengthened in the engine too, but I dont plan on doing anything like this (for the time being :p ) Its just something that I was wondering.

What would the max RPM that you would be able to drive a ITR crankshaft to reliably?

What should you look for when you are looking for a aftermarket crankshaft, and there brands out there that are know to be better than others?

honda crankshafts are a fantastic piece of engineering.
It will hold 10k+ rpm very easily.
Do not worry about it, do not replace it !

It will do it with ya eyes closed... as long as the rods can hold up !! and the engine is balanced....

The crankshaft is not something to worry about. Id estimate it to be good to about 11500 rpm. however well before that there are tons of other things that would need to be considered.

There is probably more chance of unbalanced rods/pistons causing damage to the crankshaft than anything else :)

i've tried taking a b16a to 13k with standard internals a couple of times
and nothing broke.

Well your one lucky guy, but if you have anyone to thank for that, its honda for that beautiful r/s ratio on the b16

Does a fully built b18c even make power all the way to 10,000+ rpm ??

honda cylinder heads both ported and stock dont flow SHIT past 10K rpm, unless the port runners and intake ports are shifted upwards to make a more direct path to the chamber.

dont believe anyone who says otherwise.

Well, sirvtec said he revved it to 13K rpm........didn't say he made power ;)
