Okay this might be a bit hard to explain so bare with me. Today i took of the door trim panel inside my civic hatch, I unscrewed the stock speakers pods and had a look at the wires. I was planning to strip off the stock speaker wires n put new wires in, when i realised it was quite hard to, because there is like some sort of connection that seperates all wires coming from the inside of the door, to the body; underneath the dash board, i thought the wires just go straight through to the dash but some connection that the wires go into seperates em. Btw i want to take the stock wires off because they are rooted n my speakers wont work with em. What to do to make em work again without taking it to the pro's. Any help would be good.
cheers :)

Are the wires actually rooted or do you just wanna replace them. Reason I ask is that I just fitted a new system to my EG hatch on the weekend and I managed to use the stock wires.
Once I removed the stock speakers (they were literally rotting) I clipped off the standard plugs and soldered some similar gauge OFC speaker cable (pretty standard stuff from John R. Turk) onto the original wires. Connected it up to my JBL splits and it works fine.. no hiss, no interference. I know I could do better with a full run of good quality cable but the difference would be minimal considering the rest of my system..
Hope that helps, any q's just ask..

or you could do it the dodgy way and just run it out of your trim, past your seal into the side of your dash? though i, or anyone else for that matter, would recommend this. Why'd i suggest it then you may ask? well, i would like to get my posting count up of course! but uh yeah its a problem that im dealing with at the moment, dont know how im going to get around it. Im putting in thick wires so i cant do the way u mentioned. perhaps sealing my wires to the side of the door/dash connector thingy (in scientific terms) for the meantime. Sounds dodgy? it is.
