nah just wanted to see how it turned out. Ive got a h22 in an accord and was planning to turbocharge it. My sister wants to turbocharge the Vi civic. Just wondering what the performace gains were, what the compression ratio was for the D17s.

I would chose the h22 turbo option in your accord, than the Vi, Vi very hard engine to find any aftermarket support for aftermarket parts !

Its not hard to find support, im here supporting now, power gains were usually around 65whp on daily driven stock internals.
The stock compression ratio on the d17 is 9.9:1

is the VTEC D-series on the 5 dr Vi hatch (AUDM) the same engine as in the civic coupes in the US?

reason why i ask is, as far as i know, in the US they don't sell the 5 dr civic hatch

(hmm interesting, just looked at the engine specs for the civic coupes in the US. there are 2 types of SOHC VTEC 1.7's. one makes 117 hp and the other makes 127 hp)

1) http://hksusa.com/products/?id=657

14019-XA001 - HONDA Civic 2001-2003 1.7 D17 Cast Iron mainfold. $250.00 USD.

2) http://www.johnnyracecar.com/clsix.htm
6" Bar intercooler. $210 USD.

Grab a Garrett GT25 Series Turbo Charger or HKS equivalent, 440cc Injectors, a BOV, and a good ECU (Hondata, Microtech, Autronic, Motec). Have a reputable exhaust shop or mate with a pipe bender fabricate the piping for you.

Have fun.
