Revised Type-R:
The exciting and iconic Civic Type-R doesn’t go unchanged and new for 2004 are a lighter flywheel and clutch assembly. Reducing inertia makes the engine more responsive and coincidentally shaves 0.2 secs off the 0-62 mph time (now 6.6 sec). There are also new brake callipers that incorporate the Type-R logo for added exclusivity.

Door mirror-mounted indicators, a front spoiler similar to that on Sport models, a front grille unique to Type-R, and three light blue projector style headlamps complete the picture. Inside, there are now red seat inserts and door panels, as well as red headrest aperture, to further emphasise the car’s out and out sporty nature.

The Type R benefits considerably from the NVH (noise vibration and harshness) tuning applied to the whole range.

I prefer the 2002 model...

What he said :(

They can dress it up all they want, but it still looks wrong. The EK CTR was an infinitely better looking beast. Hell, the only Civic uglier than the current shape in all it's guises, including the CTR is the 2nd gen Civic ;)

Just a minor correction - the face-lifted CTR didn't lose the Recaro's. The UK version never got Recaro's in the first place. Only the JDM model had Recaro seats plus a slightly more powerful engine (10ps extra). So judging from those pics, I'm pretty sure it's the UK-spec model rather than the JDM spec

I reckon it doesn't look too shabby at all - I'd happily trade in my VTi-R coupe for that CTR :)
The door mirror mounted side indicators makes it line-ball with the Accord Euro. The angel eyes headlights setup is very neat indeed (I'm expecting the face-lifted Integra to have those as well) with a much more aggressive front-bumper than the pre-facelift version.

Cheers,
SiR.

no we wont, honda australia had the choice between the CTR and the ITR. ITR was chosen due to its popularity and its sales figures since 98".
