I might be changing my clutch in the next couple of months. A lot of people around say that its not too hard to do yourself. Is there a good diy around that people have used before? The input shaft bearing one shows how to get the transmission off but how about after that? A h22a one would be great too ;)

Also. What do people usually do about their cv joints when they go? Buy whole new driveshafts, reconditioned ones, any other options? Best price I could find was $160 a side fitted. Supply was only $10 less.

thanks

once the transmission is off - it is very easy and straight forward to remove the pressure plate, then the clutch plate and then the flywheel. Just install in reverse order and make sure to torque these EXACTLY in an "opposite" fashion.
Well , that is a very basic explanation - I will be changing my clutch and flywheel DIY very soon so i might add a DIY with that....

If you can get the tranny off.......the clutch is a piece of cake!

Just make sure you undo/do the clutch/pressure plate up in a criss cross 'opposite' pattern and don't torque it up to full spec the first go.

ok thanks fellas. sounds like thats a goer. might get a better torque wrench before i do it though. None of this $20 cash converters stuff. where 40 foot/pounds could actually be anywhere from 30 to 50.

Hey if you need specific directions or have more questions or even need torque specs, feel free to send me a message. I dont mind helping you out with this. My suggestion is to have a 2nd person helping you out, it will make a big difference. Make sure to replace your bearings as well.
