hey,
just wondering has anyone put a h22a type s on there 5 gen accord?? coz autorichtech is selling one for 3500 for a front cut?? if i do wanna buy the type s is it just simple as putting a h22a?? any mods need for a type s to put on a accord?
its exactly the same as far as install goes. Not worth it if you ask me, the type S is only 20hp more powerful

you can consider the type s engine to the h22a like a vti-r integra engine to a type r intergra engine.
to get the extra power the type s engine recieved the following -
port and polish
different pistons that increased compression from 10.6 to 11.0
valve timing, lift and duration were also adjusted
it recieved a better shaped intake
larger throttle body
larger, more free flowing exhaust manifold
it also recieved a few various other things that i no doubtedly missed out but these are the major ones that spring to mind.

if its only 500 extra go for it. it'd cost you at least 500 to make up that 20hp later on
ermm i might sound like an absolute noob but i havn't heard of the hype s h22a before? are you saying its like a type r of the h22's compared to like a vti-r...ie better?

yep thats right the type s h22a engine is a more refined more powerful engine, much like an type r integra engine.

go for it. My h22a front cut cost me 3200 plus 300 shipping from adelaide to wagga so to get a type s for 3500 is an absolute bargain.
I dont think the type s wiring will be any different to normal h22a wiring...why would it be?

i'm very sure that type s motors are out of the newer shape preludes therefore u have to get the obd2 wiring harness adapted to urs.

dunno if anyones done it. should fit fine (engine dimensions arent different). heard the type S preludes go pretty hard so u're car should boogie after the conversion. keep us updated.

the H22A type S has an OBD2 ECU check out HASport for the conversion wiring harness that converts the OBD2 ECU to an OBD1 which is the ECU that came in the 92-96 preludes which is basically a plug in with the 5th gen harness except for four wires that need to be re wired from the sensors to the ECU
