would be helpful if u do a search..
this has been covered sevral times...

i think most ppl found optimax to be the better outa the bunch..
but meh... imo depends on the individual servos...

BP Ultimate.. it smells nicer and get high quicker.. :D

jk..

i use BP Ultimate.. i used Vortex and don't notice much difference in fuel economy in my dc5r.. but i've been told BP Ultimate is the best to use!

Yeap BP Ultimate.

Also don't go pouring different fuel every week because your engine won't have time to adjust to the new changes and will usually run like shit!

Test one for a few weeks then try another and work out the best one for yourself.

I find Syn 8000 makes my car idle more rough, revs slowler and the response is poor.

Ultimate and Optimax is favoured.

Synergy 8000 or BP ultimate for my euro :D
optimax leaves a lot more black sooty crap on my exhaust

thanks guys... seems like no one uses vortex:confused: lol
it'd be nice if i knew how to check the amount of soot build up...

i get significantly less kms outta vortex, optimax leaves alot more carbon build up than others, dont have easy access to synergy so i opt for bp ultimate:)

in melbourne theres only like ONE caltex that offers vortex... so that may be why

in any case BP Ultimate makes my car quieter and "sound" smoother...

bp ultimate or synergy 8000... not touching shell anymore

BP Ultimate seems to be the best for mine, tried optimax and found it left more soot arround the muffler. BP ultimate seems to combust cleaner and feel more responsive than optimax did.

i tend to use vortex, optimax or ultimate the most as theyre all 98 units of octane, the real difference i find is when i get one of these fuels and then add that nulon octane boost stuff, which gives me 100 units of octane, it burns quicker :D

these are the fuel.

Mobil synergy 8000
price (average): 108.5
octane: 98.5

BP Ultimate
price (average): 107.9
octane: 98.5

Shell Optimax
price (average): 105.7
octane: 98.6

Caltex Vortex 98
price (average): 107.9
octane: 98.5

Figures were taken from auto salon magazine issue 31.

oh and tegstar83 with attitude like yours i wouldn't want to pull anything out my ass.

BP ultimate is the best because it actually has 98% octane. the other weren't much different but has lower. only by a tiny margin. between .5-1.2% difference. i think vortex was the only one which was the same as bp.

Wheres ur proof to back this up??
U dont know what ur on about because if u did u would know that shell has the highest octaine, dont just pull shit outta ur arse for the sake of it

I use optimax because of the fuel saving vouchers, other than that its usually Ultimate - I barely fill up with synergy 8000 these days. I'm usually getting about 300kms on average per $20 spent.

I only ever use OPTIMAX because its convient and i feel its the best allround
I have tried and tested different fules with the Gtech but theres more varients per run then with different fules

Ultimate (More Performance, Less Polution) they dont say anywhere more millage or better econemy do they?

i heard recently that using premium unleaded (~95ron) is more fuel efficient then the 98ron stuff coz 98ron burns more fuel then the car actually uses so alot of it goes to waste....

wat u guyz think??

i personal use only ultimate....true i dont get the most mileage but IMO its the price u pay for 'more performance' cant expect to get both mileage and performance...its a choose of either performance or mileage, so its up to the user to decide whats the perfect compromise

People can give opinions and it will be a never ending battle between what fuel is better... Best way is to try for yourself and see what's best for YOUR car and you decide...

If you want my opinion and what is best for MY car:

1. BP Ultimate
2. Mobil Synergy 8000
3. Caltex Vortex 98
4. Caltex Vortex 95/96
5. Shell Optimax

hmm... personally i use BP ULTIMATE, i used OPTIMAX for quite some time till i heard some guys engine had problems after running straight optimax for years which resulted in a rebuild (not saying it'll happen to anyone else, this wasn't a VTEC motor either it was a big block)...

I've also been recommended to used ULTIMATE by a friend who has a highly tuned dc2r (he is like a walking HONDA dictionary), it just depends on which petrol station you trust more i guess.

Why would a weaker fuel make more power?? Its weaker and makes u use more, something that burns stronger is gonna get u more k's cause u wont burn as much to make power. Look at LPG u get shit all K's on it yeah its cheap and nasty and makes less power so u figure
