Not sure if i'm posting in the correct section. Anyways, for anyone with experience and has done it before, do you need to buy custom engine mounts to place a B18C into an EK1 (cxi) hatch? Or should it be fine using the stock engine mounts. Should it be straight forward enough for a home job? Any help is welcomed, but please, if you don't know, don't post up guesses.

hey duy man, i think u'll need new engine mounts cos the original ones dont have enough support/strength for the amount of moment the b18 makes when it revs...

you will need new/custom engine mounts to fit the B18C in an ek1 as the d series mounts are not compatible with the b series engines
in retrospect if ur fitting a b18c into an ek4 its a direct swap with no engine mount change required

you will need new mounts, either custom b series mounts, or ek4 mounts..

so would that mean a B18C7 from a type R would fit in my EK4 nicely??

just use standard EK4/EM mounts. i think you only need the rear mount anyway.

custom mounts = big $$$

if you still have your em1 wreck, nearly everything in the engine bay can be used. inc loom (a little splicing and rewiring for the 2ndaries).
