I emailed Top Fuel about the bodykit on their Fit and I also asked about the turbo kit which is fitted to the car, here is the response.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your mail to Topfuel.
That aero kit was made by DAMD. We modified it for the TOKYO AUTO SALON 2005.
We plan to start selling our turbo kit for HONDA Fit (Jazz) late this year.

Regards,
Mitsuhiro Sato

So it looks like the Top Fuel turbo kit will be available soon.

On another note I emailed HKS about their Fit turbo kit and they responded by saying they don't actually make a kit for the Fit. What's with that?

Ah HKS Kyusyu, I knew about that one but that would be tough to get here and to be quite honest I don't think it looks very efficient. Sorry about the bodykit link but I couldn't find any info about that kit on this forum and I asked about it in another thread and got no reply.

turbo kit from Top Fuel is cheaper than HKS tho
Top Fuel turbo for B engine usually cost like $4k-5k while HKS one cost $8k but HKS 's kit have more support parts

Hi guys, just one tiny little stupid questions.

I knew that the above is meant for GD3 jazz/Fit, but what about GD1? Will it show those signs of improvements as any other TC meant for the particular engine?? You guys have the right not to answer my stupid questions thou. :( Hmm...felt stones throwing at me..... :D

I very much doubt the Top Fuel kit will fit a GD1 (a GLi right?) as it has been designed for the VTEC engine. Also if it does fit the power output will be different as the VTEC engine has 10kw over the 1.3L engine. I don't think you will find a turbo kit available for that engine. Maybe email Top Fuel and ask ;)

anyone got numbers in terms of output increase from the top fuel and hks turbos respectively?

I know the Top Fuel Fit was tuned to over 200ps at one stage but I don't know what power output the turbo kit is quoted at. Being a bolt on kit and designed for an internally stock engine I would think a 100% gain would be pretty right with the use of a front mount intercooler. That would bring the power output up to around 160kw with more power available later on

That would be pushing it on a stock engine from a bolt-on kit...

After discussions with people about turboing the Jazz, the consunsus seems to be that the attainable result would be more like 100-110kw atw for a reliable bolt-on kit.

I am still very interested to see the parts to the kit and the design of it...

Yeah that's about right, I was referring to kw at the engine as that is what Honda uses in it's specs. They are about 80kw standard so about 160kw at the engine with a turbo kit should be right I think.

I could never own another auto especially in a small, low-powered car like the Jazz. It is so much more fun driving a manual and it will be so much more fun with a turbo kit ;)

You will be surprised... especially with the Jazz CVT, Formula 1 style paddle shift on steering wheel.. I had lots of fun with this car... :D Having said that.. Manual is still the way to go with a Turbo Kit..

The CVT is mad, its got 7 speeds! I always ask people to drag first one to 7th gear, Jazz always win!

really???? from a standstill position, i feel like the first gear of cvt is too slow.... manual with clutch would have have huge advantage in the pick up....

True, there is some lag initially but once you hit over 3k towards redline..... it feels quite fast!

But you can race anyone to 7th speed and win because Jazz is only car with 7speeds, the best S2000 can do is 6th! But then don't race those new Merc Benz E350, S350 or higher, as they now have 7speed auto gearboxes!

Yeah, I always laugh when we hit about 170km/h and they start bouncing off the rev limiter in 6th... I just change to 7th and laugh, off into the distance...

Good one guys...go read up on the CVT...it doesn't actually have 7 speeds in the true sense...it's all just electronic wizardry to make it sound impressive

It has obviously tricked you guys in to thinking it is a 7 speed gearbox....so I guess Honda has done it's job well.

Hehe, Yeah I know it isnt a true 7spd gearbox, Honda could have programmed 100 artificial gears if they really wanted to.

I just like teasing everyone else as in who's cars fastest, so I say, let's race, first one to 7th gear wins! hehe!
