i beleive not unless you remove back seats. you need access to back seats in a 4 seater, 2 door car from both sides. leagal requirement i beleive

i would presume you need an engineers report because
1. you changed your oem seats; and
2. you took the rear seats out and made the car a 2 seater.

Car would have to be re-registered as a 2 seater

if u changed to a reclinable seat like a recaro
would u still need a cert?

in my experience you wouldnt need a cert for a reclinable aftermarket seat but the police could fine you for having it changed. it all depends on if they are having a good day or not.

i have being defected for my seats in the skyline, you will need a eng cert as soon as anything is not factory.. engine or interior.. if the rails are changed more the reason..
take it from someone that being through it all.. so eng cert for any seat change will save u alot of troubles.. still need to get a eng cert for the civic's springs and zorst..

general rule of thumb is, if it's not standard get it engineered

all depends on how much mods there are.
the my skyline
covered:
kit
zorst
FMIC
Gauge
Seats
wing
airbox
steering wheel (all i can remebr for now)
cost me $880 deliverd to my door but i had to take my car in for the insptection.. it aint cheap by any means but should see the cops i own!!

on the civic i'm expecting about $500
as for both cars still running factory rims..

over here in melb, eng certs don't help a great deal.....

cops just tend to overlook them..

Does an aftermarket shiftknob require a cert too?

i would think so as any gearknow with out the "H" pattern is a defect unless it's a factory Eg S15 factory KNOB has a S on top of it, but if it's factory then not a problem

they're ok as long as there is a sticker/emblem indicating the gears placed next to the shifter.
