Hey guys!
I have one of my mates making me a exhaust system for my LS next month made of full stainless steel, and for only $350 with gaskets and flanges and all, since I already have stainless extractors on the car and my Xforce muffler I wanted to know what to expect out of the new stainless system and would it realy be worth doing or would I be wasting my money? Also what size piping should I go for? 2" 1/4 or 2" 1/2?????

Note: at the moment I only have from the extractors to the catalyst and from there to quater of the way it's all stock, reason for this due to my car being too low! lol LO_N_SXC......

Cheers!

Alex.

Definately 2 1/2" all the way!! I have been in few GSIs with the standard 2 1/4" from Livo Exhaust up here and does sometyme feel restrictive...

Ive got the full 2 1/2" front to back and it goes great (sounds awesome too!!) haha... u myte aswell go a little extra as uve gotta little extra unda da bonnet... ;)

I wouldnt mind stainless steel as well as it does help when u scratch the girl on bumps and humps... Less of a pain knowing its stainless steel... weight would be of benefit too i think??

dont flame me for this.. but 2 1/2" is rather large.. like i know it will get the car flowing well but fark it is loud! I know a guy with a 2 1/2" system on his LS and its honesly annoyingly loud, but each to their own. Although maybe it wouldnt be that loud with an xforce twin loop muffler. Just a thought

Crispy is correct.
NTR16N - a true 2.5" catback is way too big for a stock B18B/A engine.

LonSxc, $350 for a full s/s catback fitted and flanged up isn't too bad. Is this including a muffler? If not, it's a DECENT price, but not shit cheap.

Stick to 2" or 2.25" mandrel. This is my personal opinion from experience. :)

The price is with no muffler, using my own Xforce that is on the car right now, and also the it will be mandrel bent and including all flanges and gaskets and so on!

Thanks for the advice!

On my old motor 275,000 kms i had liverpool headers 4-2-1 (shit i know) good quality hi flow cat and hi flow mandrel muffler and hotdog its 2 1/4" mandrel bent and it was just perfect for the car only very small backfire (one pop) when thrashing it on the downgear
when you get backfire that means there is too much flow
the internals where all stock
if you have quite a bit of work done to it you could go 2 1/2" but it will be too loud (annoyingly loud) and you gotta have the performance to back it up
on my new motor i've been recomended to get 2 1/2" cat back but i'm restricting it coz i dont what the annoying drone of a loud exhaust
