im not sure how the gauges are put together on the EGs but on the DC2 each gauge can be removed once you pull everything apart... Perhaps the most ecconmical way to repair this is either replace the gauge cluster itself witha 2nd hand one, find a cheap civic breeze/gl one and just swap over the speedo gauge itself... riping open the gauge cluster theres quite a bit of delicate parts if your a bit rough and impatient you prob damage it even more...

2nd hand ones expect to pay $150-$200 from wreckers

the auto electro dude should be liable, unless he told u the risks before hand

get him to fix it... FREE of charge... as it was working before... if he's 'modified' your cluster he should have known that the dials would have to have gone back

guess you could always get on from the wreckers

he didnt put the needle back in the same spot he removed it from, or he butchured it putting it back in.

you cant calibrate this out, really need to remove the needle and reset the bopin thinggy. dam take it back to the Auto Elec

You don't have to remove the needle to put EL gauges into an EG cluster!

IMO the auto elecectrician should be liable unless he stated otherwise (before starting the work on it).

did he use special tools to remove the needles or just yanked it out?

the whole cluster cost $80-$100from wreckers. or just take your speedo out and ask if they got a 2nd hand one.

you can recalibrate it yourself, just get someone to drive infront of you at 40km or 60km looks at how much difference there is. Stop, fix it and test again.
Takes a few times to do it and u will need to find a quiet and straight road.
