when i bought my monitor, there was a green wire, and i know that wire is for HADNBRAKE wire...to get around that trick u suppose to ground it to earth instead of handbrake.
but the funny thing is, when i installed and test it..it worked no probz even without grounding the wire...
but my concern is..my monitor has picture but after around 10 mins..the picture is gone and left with a green screen and when i turn it off and back on, it has pictures again.
dunno if that's becos of the green wire or just monitor faulty.

i think you have to by-pass it through a switch cause i was asking about that at my friend audio shop. I haven't got a screen yet but its coming so yeah, you need a switch for it cause it needs constant grounding

yeah i think so, cause it sounds like there is a bad ground somewhere, cause if the screen is stuffed it wouldn't just go on for ten minutes or so and than dead out

All TV or DVD players have the hand break wire. When that wire is connected to the hand brake the monitor will only work if the hand brake is up. When the hand brake is down the monitor will not operate. Meaning you will only get sound from the unit and no picture. When the hand break wire is ground the monitor will work per normal.....

Is the unit pioneer coz mine is and i got a green wire
I have installed a few of these unit and i allways ground the wire onto the handbrake wiring. Get it working normally coz the cops will test it to see if its hooked up as well if you get busted you can say look it want let me watch tv when driving i was only in options mode (3 demerit points)
Now the trick is also have a bypass swich so you can turn it on and off without using the handbrake
Hide the switch and connect it to the unit side of the handbrake wiring giving the unit an earth while the handbrake is down
Then between the switch and the handbrake you will need a diode (allows only one way flow ---> ) so the car want think the handbrake is on while driving (in some cars i.e. Holdens it sets of a warning)
now when you lift the handbrake or flick the switch it will alternate between the display of movies or blank warning screen (if your not playing a movie the switch will not change anything)
that is the best way to do it but extra work compaired to just grounding the wire
if you need extra help just PM me
