the first one is simply radar guided cruise control (like Mercedes-Benz's "Distronic") The radar is located within the honda emblem in the grille. The Accord will automatically slow down if the car infront is going at a slower speed, and it will maintain a set minimum distance behind that car. When the car infront moves out of the way (the fourth example), the Accord will accelerate back to its previous cruising speed.

the second one is a lane departure warning system. correct me if im wrong, but I think there are a set of small cameras mounted next to the interior rear-view mirror, which can recognise the white lane markings. If it senses you are veering out of the lane, it will make loud noises and orange lights will flash at you etc...

Thanks for that, i reakon they are over complecating things its good to have systems technology in the cars and that they implement theses ideas to put them one step ahead of the competition but it just seems to me that in a effort to enhance safty features they are taking controll away from the driver, I dont know about anyone else but i like to feel the car and controll it and sometimes ring the neck off it (of course in a nice way) imo people dont need cars to drive anymore but in fact cars need to drive people and i dont like it

Thanks evolution42 for pasting it up to the forums & giving us clear information about it...

Wow pretty cool technology.. I would expect this on Bmers and Mercs.. & not in a Accord Euro...

This thing should be in the new Legend.. Its Honda's most upmarket sedan..

No worries:)

All of these features come standard in the JDM Honda Legend and the Acura RL (which is the US version of the Legend). It also gets other cool features like 5.1 DVD audio, bluetooth (i think), voice activation, keyless go.....the list goes on..
