its an emissions thing, put on there to catch the fumes coming from the top of the head, some cai kits dont have the inlet for the piping so people will put a mini filter on there just to filter the shit which comes out of it.

So will a little filter stop the oil, casue in that post they say it makes a mess in engine bay

the filter will not stop the oil, as that is what an oil catch can is for, the only time oil will come out of there is if you are cornering REALLY hard enough for oil to go up into the release and flow through, doesnt happen much.

Guys , this pipe which runs from the camcover into the intake pipe is a inlet vaccuum pipe for the PVC system. Inother words , air is getting sucked INTO that pipe INTO the head- not "out".
It keeps an oil vapour + air flow thru the head and thus into the bottom of the car block to prevent sludge buildup etc.

The air flow then goes back up thru the PCV ( positive crankcase valve) and then again into the inlet manifold.

Have a look in this thread - http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20226&highlight=oil+catch (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20226&highlight=oil+catch)
- we discuss the point and location of an actual oil catch can - IE to catch excess oil vapour and prevent it from entereing the inlet manifold :D

then all your vapours go into the engine bay and all yr engine bits get oily YAY!

So to sumarize

* The thing i was talking about isnt where a oil catch can goes
* The thing i was talking about sucks in not out
* having a filter on there would make a mess ?

so the oil catch can goes on inlet manifold
not reocker cover inlet

cool thanks Bennjamin
