vti or vtis?

Aren't they the same apart from cosmetic details?

Tell your friend to wait for Top Fuel to release its turbo kit. Should give a healthy increase in power and should still be nice to drive considering it's a bolt on kit. Also tell him to do suspension and a decent exhaust.

The single best and cheapest performance gain comes from replacing the intake. A'pexi do a decent kit (one of which I have for sale, hin, hint) or Ruf Performance here in Sydney have developed a kit that makes slightly more power than the A'pexi kit.

Muli has also achieved excellent gains from his intake setup.

So i would say this is the best bang for your buck mod.

Exhausts sound good, but there is not as much in it as the intake.

Other than that, suspension mods are where it's at....get the suspension sorted on a Jazz and you will be surprised as to how well it handles.

As for the Boxster thing....try taking on a regular Boxster (the older model and not that I condone traffic light races) with Tiptronic. You might be surprised......actually I think the Porsche driver will be even more surprised to see you hanging with him.....

It might be a small car, but it can pack a pretty decent punch when it has to!

Dyno gains showed between 4.5-5kws wit my intake setup, it costed me around $300. With intake and exhaust sorta out and if you remove abit of excess weight, e.g rear seats, spare tyres you will be suprised how well it goes and does give cars around the 100kw a real good go e.g corolla sx, stocko SR20DE and especially SI or Vti early model civics:D

MaxiJazz, is yours Manual or CVT... the RUF CAI Kit is only for Manual for the time being I think... Apexi Kit, you can do a search in the For Sale Section... I think JUS10 is selling his.. Also, ahcash is selling a set as well .. check it out.

I find that VERY Hard to believe. Thats a LOT of gain for just an intake. Was this tuned or untuned?

The best way for your Jazz to go better - cept for a K series swap - is this:

- Rip out the seats, and install two light frontseats from say Sparco or Recaro.
- Get a good intake system
- Have the head PNP'ed by a GOOD porter, do a 0.5mm mill. (I recommend Rocket (www.m24x.com))
- Get a set of +0.5mm 11.6:1 forged pistons
- Get a good header and install a testpipe which is resonated
- Have it all tuned with a good FMU. VAFC isn't good enough (no timing options).

The VTIS weighs 15kg more than the VTI because of the body kit. People do you think the areodynamics of the bodykit outweigh the weight gain?

On a Jazz? Seriously. You cant go more wrong then putting a Turbokit on a L-series engine.

Which part is hard to understand, the fact that the pod works or the gains? the standard ecu was tuned:D resetted ecu.

just cant wait till i get my cat-back system completed. In the end for about $1000 i will of gotten a good 10-13kw gain over stock power.

the standard ecu was tuned resetted ecu.

Resetting the ECU hardly counts as tuning :) Or maybe you did a reset and tune? If so, what did you use? I haven't found any tuning systems (No, VAFC doesn't count) that intergrates with the Honda Jazz ECU... :(

As to the gains of 15kw? No. I mean no disrespect, but no. No way you gain 15kW on a Jazz with light boltons. You don't gain 15kW on an ITR with light boltons - trust me - I've tried. 15kW is 24whp, which in Honda terms 27.6 bhp. The Jazz engine isn't designed for that kinda stuff..

Learn to read, i quote myself of saying 10-13kw gain. And the smiley at the end when i said about the tuning of ecu should give you a idea what was exactly done

On a seperate note, Im interested in where you got your custom pipe from....and how much did it cost......What filter are u using..???

the filter is a BMC pod filter, for <1600cc engines. pipe work is made from aluminium and any exhausts shop will be able to fabricate something up for you
