I plan on a header and exhaust package upgrade for my bone stock CRX del sol.

What exhaust do you recommend, I was looking at an Xforce setup, with high flow cat, 4-2-1 headers, and twin loop exhaust, would this setup offer good gains, and how would the noise be?

I want a nice exhaust note, right now you cant tell if my car is on, while standing next to it! But im not diggin the rice sounding exhaust and horrible drone that most of my mates have from their fat canons.

Would it be wise and economical to purchase these parts, and then get an exhaust shop to fabricate 2.25 inch mandrel bent piping>? Or would it be best to go to someone like Hitech and get a system installed?

I have a loose budget, but Id like to keep it below $1000 for a full setup, if you coudl reccomend any other combinations or exhaust companies please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey

Yeah that sounds like a good setup. The B series engine has been out for awhile now so I'm sure X-Force has developed a good quality system for it.
I'm saying this because I visited an exhaust store today and they called their X-Force supplier for a DC5R header and was advised it was cracking and of poor quality.

IMO, X-Force are a good bang for buck.

A 2.25inch mendrel bent will suit your car nicely and with the twin loop I'm sure the noise level will be at a minimum/deep note.

The thing with buying parts here and there is that they may not match up and could end up costing you more. Exhausts stores would also offer warranty and labour prices ontop of the parts won't be that much more.

Thanks for the advice, how much would an exhaust setup from the headers back cost from an exhaust store? Looking at the prices for xforce gear 4-2-1 headers $450, Hi-flow Cat $150 Twin Loop Muffler $200-250, its approx $750 all up, leaving $250-300 for piping and fitment, could an exhaust setup that equals this package be made for under $1000? I would be happy to delay the headers for now, Im really after a nice exhaust note for now.

Check out the traders section for the Mugen replica twin loop mufflers.

As for the rest of that price, it seems like a good deal. I assume they are all stainless steel? $200-$250 for labour is more then enough IMO.

yes all the xforce products I have stated are stainless. So twin loop is the way to go? is a canon offer more performance?
