Hey guys,
this is just me being lazy to pull apart my car but yea, how big are the stock front speakers on the 93 model DC2?
Also, normally where would you place the crossover unit? Im thinking its better to place it somewhere close to the speakers (short wiring distance less chance of interference). Where abouts would you guys have yours?
And lastly, tweeters...I know everyone has different opinions on location, but what works best for most of you guys? I was thinking of just sticking it right next to the midrange on the doorpod so that the sound from both speakers would reach me at the same time.

hmmmm.....dependg on how big is the crossover, cables you are using, there is some really good cables on the market now, i mean its all depends on how much you have to spend on it, with the location of the tweeters is not really important these days cause oyu have decks that have the time aligment function in it, so you can tune it to come all at the same time. every useful function

my left crossover is inside my glovebox and my right is attached just above the fuse section in the dash. lack of space is why lol.

yea I've decided to just stick the tweeters above the stock speaker location, onto the kinda angled section above the side door pockets. Dont wanna mess around with it for too long.
Cables and everything I'll just get some from jaycar and audio leads just shops around for a bit. Don't wanna be spending too much on the sound cuz Ive already overshot my budget =/
Thanks for the help anyways. I'll find a suitable location for the crossover when it comes to installing. Hopefully my HU would come by this long weekend so i can get started :]

Hey,
When I installed my splits I placed the tweeters in the door nearly level with the door handle if you understand what I mean. When you take your door skin off, on the back look for a circular ridge in that area and that will give you a guide where to drill, as this is where the factory tweeters are on the USDM GSR. I should add that my tweeters are flush with the door surface. In regards to the crossover, my driver's side is hidden behind the plastic panel that houses the boot latch etc, and the passenger's side is underneath the carpet in the far left hand corner, as it wouldnt fit underneath any panels. Sorry I don't have any pics for you to look at, but if you search for some USDM GSR's on the net you will see where I mean the tweeters can go..

I guess most of yous prefer to place the crossover close to the splits then aye. I'll find a suitable space for them as soon as my HU comes. Man its taking its sweet time to arrive aye! Thanks guys!
