View Full Version : Is It A Limited Edition DC2R??

Hey guys
I just recently bought myself a DC2R. The guy claims that it is limited edition #143/150. I'm not sure how true this is. It comes with the JDM kit and yellow Recaro's. Does that make it limited edition? I haven't seen any other DC2R's with yellow Recaro's

yellow recaros are found on all 2001 yellow dc2r's, 99 and 2000 came with black recaros.
As for the JDM kit what do you mean by this? is it just the factory optioned side skirts and rear pods?

yes..comes with factory side skirts and rear pods. So is there such a thing as a LE ITR? does the build number mean anything special?

hmm i have heard of limited edition dc2r's but to be honest i dont think there are any differences between them and all the other dc2rs sold here in aus, the factory optioned side skirts and pods do not make it lmited as u can get them optioned with any dc2r out of the factory, my previous 99 dc2r came with them and it was not limited edition.

some ppl have told me that they only made 500 of each colour, which makes all ITR limited edition. I dunno... I haven't found any info to confirm this

i darnoz boutz all 2001 model itr having yellow recaros.....coz the only time i have seen yellow recaros in an itr, is in a yellow itr 2001 and ive only seen this twice....i have seen a 2001 model black itr with red recaros...so yerr....*shrugz* i really dont have a clue as to what is LE buh yerr just thought id say something

errm in my previous post it stated that yellow reacros are found on all "YELLOW" 2001 model dc2r's not all 2001 dc2r ;)

2001 YELLOW DC2R = yellow recaros
2001 BLACK DC2R = red recaros
1999 and 2000 had black recaros in both these colours...
99/00/01 CW DC2R = red recaros...
simple...the LTD edition just had the optional body kit from Honda

i got a limited ed vti-r aparently..its got leather seats, cd player and sunroof....

LTD edition came with the option for the sunroof...

all honda cars come with the option for sunroof
the LTD edition type r came with simple crap such as pedals and yes the type r film on the rear window.
also have ehard about the 500 made of each color. dunno if tis true.
does n e 1 have an ITR with number >500?

I think they had an Indy special or something, with standard A/C, kit, mats and a sunroof or something a while ago, maybe that is the LE type R??

Spot on, also had no option because orginally honda would not honour new car warranty if you fitted sunroof because it was thought that having a hole in the roof would cause the body to twist.
LE - has Oem kit (skirts, rear bar ext.), sunroof.

did u do search cause there is a post on before on the two different cars..... yours one got race padels??? it's silver, there really not much difference just little stuff

Isnt air conditioning std on all dc2r's as Honda Aus subsided it and fitted it after the cars came from Japan?

Bodykit was not standard on LE, only pedals, rear window film, AC and maybe rear strut brace.
One other thing, 2001 models are Racing Yellow as opposed to 1999-2000 models which are sunlight yellow.

I have a Q for anyone with a black DC2R that is 99/00...does your black have a tinge of blue in it like the DC5 or is it just black? I have 01 and it has a blue tinge in it like the DC5s
What do the pedals look like?

I have a LE 00 Black type r... The only difference that I see is that it has a LE badge under the park brake .. mine says TYPE R LE 00-000576 so for the guys that are asking yeah my number is over 500 so I guess there are more than 500 made in a color. Dunno about the pedals being standard because mine are normal rubber pedals. My recaros are black with matching graphite type look intertior (eg the dash and around the cd player etc.) Dunno about the tint on the rear window.. BUt my car is tinted? (or maybe the previous owner tinted it)

i thought they were all the same!....
Phoenix Yellow they call it....
