Hi guys,

I am having difficulty pulling the upper box out (the one above ashtray)

Instruction says pull bottom edge, but theres nowhere for me to grip to pull.... Is the design of our storage box different to the US? I drive a 05 model, is that different?

Please help, I been trying to pull the thing out for over an hours... :(

Congratulation. You will love the new short shift.. Give you even more sporty feel of the car.

I am lucky, coz I got baboo and Matell 2 pair of experienced hands to install for me.

hehe... still learning to drive manual

but Learner (ozHonda member) helped me with the install of the icebox... and i think we got the wrong bracket (refer to other thread)...

he had a test-drive and he seem to LOVE it... says the shifter is VERY sweet hehe

Yeah the Comptech Shortshifter is one essential mod for manual euro owners... It makes the gear changes short and slick...

Its advisable to by a hex key so u can screw the hex screws in.. If not it will be wobbly.. U don't need to put the Loctite glue in if u just screwed in the hex screws.. The hex screws will hold the shortshifter without the need for the loctite glue..

does the screws go all the way in? coz with the hex key i got... i kinda couldnt screw further with around 2~3mm sticking out

Thats fine but ensure the thing is in completely and you use the loctite they supplied.

I was wonderign about this mod. Did you guys get the part from that USA ebay guy? How long did it take if so?

Will the shifts be harder/stiffer if there is less leverage?

Only slightly..but man,,, let me tell you, you will love it.. If you want harder feel, change the knob to metal ones. like Type R style..

The Comptech Shortshifter is one of the cheapest mods u could do and it reduces the throw of changing gears by 33%....

I tried comparing it to my friends S2000. Definetly he says and i say my euro with the comptech shortshifter, the gear changes are much more shorter then his S2000...

& i actually remember when he first got his S2000 his gear changes was already short... But the Comptech Shortshifter makes it so much shorter for the euro plus it makes it feel stiff, which feels bulletproof...

may i ask how much for the shortshifter?
and has anyone experienced any problems with it?

I think around $75 or $80 AUD shipped to Australia.. someone else can varify this for you..

So far, I have no problem with my Comptech Short shift except want to change gear more often..

Hey is there a difference between the following and if so, which one is right for our aussie spec euros?

CompTech Honda Accord 6MT 2003-2005 Short Shifter
CompTech Acura TSX 6MT 2004 - 2005 Short Shifter
CompTech Acura TL 6MT 2004 - 2005 Short Shifter

I'm thinking the TSX 6MT one but not that certain. Thanks in advance
James

James they will all be the same.

But to be safe, order the one for TSX.

Hi,
Just trying to install it at the moment and I am having great difficulty taking the white plastic bushing on the bottom of the stock shift lever. It's meant to be gently pryed off but try as I may (and also using alot of strength), it refuses to come off! It's late, and I need to re-assemble it soon so I can drive to work tomorro!
I am using the Neuspeed instructions, using a 13mm wrench but it's not coming out...

after reading this thread, i think it would be a good mod. i might get one myself! shifting my euro is like driving a truck :P my S15 was short :)

Just take yr time and be patient. It took me a while too but it will come off.

You wont regret it once its installed.

Feels even better if you have the Skunk 2 shift knob nice and solid feel with a very short throw.

Can anyone here that has installed a shortshifter give some advice? I've spent hours trying to take that plastic bushing off, but it's so difficult to come off!
Help please! In the meantme, I will keep trying as u said Mugen88 - I know it's worth it... but the bushing is starting to show signs of abuse (my abuse) trying to get it off... :o

DONE! After MANY hours (okay, around 3 hours) - the hardest part was the darn bushing - I used a flathead screwdriver and ALOT of force... finally!

Should be good!

Thanks for all ur replies!

i assume thats through ebay, Yes it will fit and ebay will automatically convert it to Aus dollars

i bought mine through Acura of Escondido Parts, they were great to deal with, very quick!

One of the best mods considering price, gives a great feel :)

I had some trouble getting that plastic piece off the bottom too but eventually got there!! the neuspeed instructions helped too

Send the seller a message requesting a price on shipping to Australia :)

Then if your paying through paypal theres a section to include shipping costs, just put in how much the seller has told you for shipping costs

:) good luck with it
