View Full Version : Buying an EK GLi... What to look out for?
I'm going to look at a 96 EK GLi hatch tomorrow, 5 speed, red, completly stock.
Could you guys help me out on what to look out for on these cars? Just a few common problems and what to check for apart from the usuals would be great.. It has RWC so should be mostly fine I think..
Cheers

theres not exactly any 'common problems' they have... just depends on how many k's its done, weather its done long distance driving, short trips and if its been thrashed... best thing is to ask these things or you can prolly guess some of these things just by meeting the person... young and seems into cars = prolly means cars copped abit... middle age/older person = taken care of abit more... good luck mate!

hey buddy
they're pretty reliable cars in my opinion, have a check for underbody wear (rust, leak or weird noises) cause 158,000 clicks sounds like quite a bit for a 96 model? I guess I say that cos mines done 120,000 (96) and I do a bit of driving....
Check the the paint etc for any signs of an accident...other than that check for the usual mechanics and goodluck!
