Black stuff

Hey guys

wanted to know if you guys know what could be causing this or if it is a big problem.

When i start my car the exhaust spits out this black stuff onto the ground and stains the ground. (i have a 2.5inch exhaust). The car is due in for a major service soon ( about to hit 100,000Kms).

Any ideas ???

you have a dump pipe i take it? My cousin has this same problem. its sort of like a sooty looking substance yes? it could be you are running your engine too rich, but i tihnk that this black stuff comes out of all exhausts, just depends on their angle and distance from the object they are covering.

its probably just a mixture of carbon/soot and water vapour spittin out as your car warms up- wouldnt worry about it.

Get the car serviced soon !
