as in my introduction post, i was wondering if i tried to take the moudlings (rubber lumps on the bumper bars) off, would the glue take off the paint aswell meaning i'd have to get a respray....or is there a way i can get em off without peeling the paint...?
same question goes for the "civic vti" decal on the bootlid. can i get it off without damaging the paint?

The civic vti is just a sticker so that should be OK.

If it stuff up the paint, just glue it back on :)

(Same goes for the rubber mouldings!)

Not sure about the mouldings, but for the sticker......run a sponge (or cloth) of warm water over it to make the glue kinda tacky.......keep doing it while attempting to peel it off.

ive been told to get a hair dryer, and just heat the badge up so glue gets soft, and remove :D

my panel beater said that the paints are fair strong when it comes to that stuff, but yeah I dunno, try it and see.

the badge is easy... just peel it off and if there is remaining black sticky stuff there just scrap it off with ur nails or something...

as for the side mouldings, if you are talking bout the ones on 96+ civics front & rear bar... not sure if you can remove them... would leave u a hole in the bumper???... :?

it's a 94 eg sedan...

hmm i think the hair dryer is the go...but will the bumper warp if it gets too hot?

ill give u a tip - DONT USE A BUTTERKNIFE or any KNIFE  hahaha i learnt the hard way with my old EG; left a few scratches. I thought all EG's only had stickers?? or r u also talking about the Honda badges cus they will leave holes if u remove them.

I removed my sticker using a hair dryer....just put it on low heat and blow onto the VTi sticker while trying to peel it off....U will find using a hair dryer is the best way, it comes right off no probs....

The moldings aren't stuck on. They are clipped on.

Take ur bumper car off and undo the clips

Yeah, they are clipped on, and you will need to fill the holes and respray after. It's worth it though, shaved mouldings on the EG look hot!

Note that the EK's that dont have the moldings are the 99-00 civics...since you have mouldings I am gussing u have a 96-98 model? I think that the headlights, fenders, and bumper are a different fit and wont fit on ur car if ypou are trying to do a swap from a 99-00 model..
