i read on a site that the only difference between the CTR cams and the ITR cams are the intake, its more aggressive on the CTR. but the exhaust cam on the CTR is exactly the same.

If they are the same spec cam, it wouldn't suprise me if they share the same part.

Do you guys know the lift and duration of CTR and ITR?

From what i have learnt too - ( we are all still learning ;))

Civic type R and Integra type are the same camshaft upon outlet ( exhaust) - but the intake cam of the civic type R is more aggressive ( IE giving more duration and lift on its V-tec lobe) ...

Umm...And....in basic essence , the CTR bottom end block is a b18c VTir block , just with correct compression and pistons to make it a 1.6 litre.

I wish i had a b16b ;)

nah - CTR is only 3 degrees more duration - same lift...

search the bloody internet guys!!! it is all out there,

or goto Honda-tech.com and search...

PS - there is no identity 'code' - it is the engraved rings on the ends of the cams...

see - it is that easy :)

btw - for the record that is a ctr cam...

the itr cam has only one 'engraved ring' and same 'protruding rings'

hmm I thought the B18C(R) and the B16B are actually based on the B16A block - bored out for the B18C(R).

If you notice, the Type R manifolds etc will bolt straight onto a B16A whereas the B18C (VTiR) does not accept these manifolds - even a B18C(R) manifold will not fit onto a B18C Block

CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG PLEASE PEOPLE !!

it makes me want to scream somethimes eh?

the B18C as used in Type R integras is a B18C with a B18C crank using B18C lenght rods...

it has a B16A head, slightly ported in house by Honda.

it is NOT, as some would say, based on the B16A block

consider yourself CORRECTED fool

you talk like as if you've never been a learner before.

Tink passed on info that was to the point and then followed on from the previous thread's "CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG PLEASE PEOPLE !!", get over it :)

This forum really sucks for all the bleeding hearts sometimes :?

hey if YOU wanna make "correct me if im wrong" comments - you are open to devastating attack from people who know what they are talking about...

specially with such stupid ASSUMPTIONS that because you can fit a type r intake to a B16A head - then the must be the same block?!?!?!

and no - i have never made such assumptions without further RESEARCH on things like the internet to verify the claim.

this is how you LEARN one more chance, not by asking to be corrected if wrong.

i do NOT make statements and expect people to correct me if i am wrong...

that is NOT what public forums are for...
