twin exhaust on a dc2

have any of you guys seen a dc2r with a twin exhaust, similar to stock s2000 one. I saw one the other day, now im thinking about doing the same to my car, im wondering if it is possible without losing all ground clearance? It looked awesome though

i take it ur talking about twin mufflers.. n not a true twin exhaust system?

anywayz...i havent come across a dc2r with sucha a setup.. but i have seen one or two gsi's n vti-r's with them... they're not much use unless its for bling purposes...

imo dun both with em.. unless u really find em attractive.. n want one.. n aint too fussed bout power or weight.. then go for it!

anyone know why cars these days have the twin muffler set up from factory... ie.. s2k.. euro.. mazda 6...
would it be for emission regulations (though i cant see how having an extra muffler would help)? for sound levels (quietness)? or a mix between good flow and minimal sound (db)?

As far as my knowledge goes its for several reasons. On 4 cylinders its mainly for looks, on V6 and V8 and V12 its mainly for performance. The most efficient S2000 exhaust setup is a single outlet and i think most racing applications use 1 outlet.

As far as putting twin pipes ona type R, i say do it if you wanna lose power, but think of all the extra chicks you will pull, theyll look at your twin exhaust pipes and wanna just jump you :rolleyes: . I mean think about it. Just dont try racing any other type R's cause you will most likely lose due to the loss in power.

well not entirely lose power bottom end you will probably lose to a cxi civic
but top end you will gain heeps because of the extra flow....
but your not goingto be going 180klm/h all the time so i say dont do it
but if u want it for the looks with no compromise i say put a dummy 2nd exhaust i know its a lil fake but hey if it looks good and still gives u optimal performance then do it......
but its realy upto u manz watever makes u happy .......

i was talking about a similar setup to the s2000, like one big pipe like 2 1/2 and then split into two 2 inch pipes. i didnt mean like two pipes all the way. i dont understand how this will lose power really, its not like its a dual 3 inch off a v8 commodore or something. How can you all predict the exhaust setup will lose power so confidently without seeing it. If an exhaust is made properly, it will be suited to the car, hence compliment its performance not hinder it.

well guys i have a twin set exhuast on my 99 itr and i actually have gain power after putting it on. It just has to be done probaly and it cost me less the most perforamce exhaust you buy of the self so i say if you want to do it do it:thumbsup:
