My current CRV exhaust tip has a dent...
i'm thinking of fitting on a cannon style muffler, maybe one with a 2.5" outlet.
are mufflers universal? are there bolt on mufflers or do i have to purchase one and get it welded on?

depends man, most are welded on, using an adaptor pipe (if you arent doing the whole system) but i guess you might be able to find a direct bolt on but im not sure where (probaberly second hand)...

some bolt on muffler from HKS, Legal series, but u r looking at around $600 import from Jap....HotBits and Supersprint makes bolt on as well....HotBits slightly cheap than 600, Supersprint more expensive....all of these bolt on is restrictive type muffler as they need to be road legal....
any aftermarket cannon style straight-through muffler will be loud and probably illegal, they also need to be welded on...prices are around 100 for cheapo to 300 Apexi....

I have a little polished cannon muffler (2" in, 3" out, 10" long) that I have just removed from my wife's '01 Liberty RX because we are trading it in on a '03 CR-V Sport.

First thing I did was look under the Honda and it's a 2" system!! When it get's home, first thing is to weld the mufler in (I'm a boilermaker/welder) and make it sound a bit better!

Anybody else done it, and if so, pics?

Cheers, Greg.
