Hey all.
I'm looking at getting a 90-91 Integra, I was going to get a Prelude again, but due to the 4WS I decided against it.

Does this model have 4WS?
Any problems with it at all that any of you know of?
Does it have all power options like the Prelude?
Also, whats the engine like?
I know its no NSX but is it a strong engine?

Any additional info would be greatful.

Thanks
Jason

Does this model have 4WS? No
Any problems with it at all that any of you know of? Just common car ageing - but usually better than average
Does it have all power options like the Prelude? power everything inc. sunroof
Also, whats the engine like? DOHC 1.8L - tuned and maintained well goes quite hard and sounds sweet
I know its no NSX but is it a strong engine? id say its strong-many examples still out there with over 250k

all up id pick it over the prelude anyday - lighter, more modern, more rev happy motor - great buy for what they go for

Good cars overall, all power options + sunroof

plus it has a b-series engine, (good aftermarket support)
+ easier to do engine transplant

go the LS !!!
it will be slightly quicker then your prelude too ;)

common problems.. mine goes thru new cv joints everyday (maybe its the way i drive)..
umm main fuel relay.. almost every teg i know has come down with thie problem - easy fix 50 bucks
thats all i can think of for now other then the common wear n tear..
my altenator died at 285km, radiator blew at 310ish, water pump at 305km, steering rack around 300.. and slight head gasket leak at 325km (due to removing rev limiter and givin it all it had lol) still drove it till 333,000 and then i did an engine swap :P

but yeh depends how well its maintained

The Gen 3 prelude was 1st released in 1987
The Gen 2 Integra was 1st released in 1989

also the lude is much more squarish - taking lots of styling from the gen 2 83-86

are you dumb ???
theres a difference between a modern car
and a modern looking car

no offence to the preludes but they do look older... like FNATK said.. theyre are boxy like the gen2 prelude and gen one tegs with popup headlights..

My bros got a Gen 3 prelude and personally i think it looks very sexy for its age, its got a lil more power than my teg, its got a few better options than the integra Eg: Bigger sunroof, lumbar support seats, 'memory' drivers seat, cruise, 4ws.

As for the DA9 integra its still a gem of a car, looks so modern for its age, and apparently THE BEST HONDA MECHANICALLY, BETTER THAN THE NEW INTEGRAS ... "Brodger Honda Thomastown", the same cant be said about the prelude, apparantly they are the worst mechanically and one of the unsafest cars on the road - RACV magazine

Jason, you can come drive/suss out mine! May give you a few things to look out for when you go do your shopping. I've been looking at an Alfa anyway...

Having spent considerable time in both, I would say the Prelude is a nicer car to drive stock. Feels a bit quicker to me, and handles better during normal driving, although I am sure this would differ between car/driver. The 4WS of the Lude is a little airy fairy at high speed, I usually close my eyes and hope I have the car where I want it to be (I hope my g/f isn't reading this!)

I prefer the Integra's styling, especially the interior (which I do believe looks more modern) and the engine bay layout which is much neater. The entire car has this ageless beauty. Then again, I may be biased.

Main Fuel Relay can be an issue in them, but its an easy fix (but the lude had the same problem).

I've had problems with the radiator (replaced) and fuel pump (replaced) but thats about it. The driveshafts will click and click and click, but have not let go on my car and I've been told they won't for a long while.

I'd watch out for rust around the windshield as well as the rear guards.

just sent you an email LUDO2C, and yeah they're pretty good on fuel... i usually get between 500-550km/tank (best is 630km from a tank) and it holds 50L

LUDO2C used to have a very nice 3rd gen lude, we're not trying to get him to buy another. Hopefully with out info he can have a reference from which he can compare the knowledge he has of both cars and make up his own mind.

Man definately give an LS a go. I was lookin at preludes and civic vti's. As soon as a i took the LS for a drive i wanted it. Ive driven one for the past year however some "nice guy" decided to push me off the road and my baby LS was written off. So i also am looking at gettin another. They are a quality car mate and as far as im concerned very, very underestimated by most. :honda:

ive had both hondaz and wouldnt bag either... they both look great, are reliable and fun to drive...

the teg does have the more modern "look"... and i guess much more potential of a build up then the prelude... aftermarket parts and accessories do also come more freely...

but i guess this isnt a comparison... go the LS!! so smooth, sturdy, sexy ass ryde... hahaha im not biased LOL :p

PS if ur willing to pay more mynes up for sale too... hehehe *hint hint

Or have someone on my car, so someone hurry up and by my car lol.

Yeh I had a 3rd gen, loved it but HATED the 4WS!
I going to buy an LS just when I sell my thing.

Thanks for answering all my questions boys and all the info.
