i think 16"s are better, 17" too big for the car. looks like u have a little more room to play around with for the 16" as well, get a better height off the floor

16s are best combination for both looks and weight (not too big not too small not too haevy). 15s may look abit too small somtimes..and 17s may look a bit big too at times.

just my opinion. :)

hehehe wouldn't it make the jazz slower?? the jazz would have to work extra hard to get the 17's moving

cheaper?

prices are market driven, people seem to buy more 15" and 17" wheels therefore pulling the prices of these tyre sizes down also. 16" is an ambiguous size that few people tend to buy so prices for tyres are not so competitive

too right, i had 16" on my ek before and was perfect

but for my fit i want to keep power to weight ratio high so wanting 15" but for better looks 16" is better

aye decisions decisions

maybe best go something like 16" ce28n but the $,$$$

20-06-2005, 08:10 AM
16s are fine for our car... 17 too big... you will have to account for more factors... and you lose power if the wheels are heavy...

how would the jazz go with 195/50/15 as the diameter would be exactly same as 185/55/15? wouldnt be too wide?

Tony
21-06-2005, 08:24 PM
with 195/50/15 your wheel will look very small and u'll get a bigger gap between the tyres and the fender. 195 is fine(on the stock wheel with stock offset), 205 is fine too but your rear tyres will be scrubing plastic on the inside. just let it scrub until all the plastic is gone :D :D :D

has anyone tried 195/45/16 tyres on 16x7 rims? does it fit?...or would it be too narrow to fit properly? need your feedback.... :)

on another note...has anyone tried bringing their own engine oil for service at honda? coz i asked them if i could buy my own oil (mobil 1) and they declined...they said i have to use honda's oil only. any comments?

i was told it would remain the same

195 is the width and 50 is the thickness of the tyre, so 195/50R15 is smaller in diameter compared to the 185/55R15.

but thats only with aftermarket suspension, not standard?

i was told the difference between 185/55/15 to 195/50/15 is about 8-10mm so is that visually a big difference, i can get falken ze-326 in 195/50/15 for $95 each

For 16" the tyres should be 195/45/16

I think 16 is nice on Jazz IMHO. 17 does look a little out of place.

i was told the difference between 185/55/15 to 195/50/15 is about 8-10mm

The 185 and 195 numbers mean the width of the tyre's contact with the road in mm. So the 195 is 10mm wider than the 185mm.

The second number (55, 50) is the height of the sidewall, as a percentage of the width. Known as the "aspect ratio".

So the height of 185/55 is 101.75mm and the height of 195/50 is 97.5 - not much compared to the overall radius of the wheel, so it will only affect your speedo by about 1-2%, which is fine. AND the bonus is you get an extra 10mm width of contact with the road.
