Lets say 5.8 V8 SS commodore!!! whats would take to beat 1 of this in 1/4 mile without turbo your Honda. Tunning only like : ECU, cams, valve spring, port polish and others mild tunning not bigg dollars not over $10000 of tunning plus the car must be still road legal. Does any1 know is this possible????:D

i dont think it could to be honest.. maybe if the SS V8 had no work done and was in poor condition???

Weight reduction would be needed for sure, and your engine would need a make over, Gen3 V8 (most V8's) pull very hard, especially from 3rd gear+, and to add, they have bag loads of torque.......I have seen plenty of stock V8 pulling 13sec 1/4 passes with a clean take off, and I have not seen many na honda pulling constant 13's, well not the ones that looked road legal anyway. Besides what honda are you talking about?? coz an NSX would have a chance anyday of the week, depends on the driver, and other factors, but would definetly give V8 run for their money. although anything is possible as long as you have $$$.

we are talking a NA honda against a V8, what if this honda was turbocharged?
wonder if it would take much too beat it and i wonder what psi u would be running..

a stock NSX wouldnt have any prob beating SS's
on paper ... a SV8 (VY) commohore does a 1/4 mile in 14sec flat!

plz be more specific as to which engine.. on what chassis...

EDIT: and are we talkin on a drag strip... or on closed/private 'street' pavement?

the Honda would have to be able to run under 14 secs. I've seen this exact race before. My frens DC5R vs VY SS V8 sedan on the street. the DC5R won by about 0.5 to 1 car length 3 consecutive times.
