Hey guys, im picking up my new car tomorrow night (red EK hatch), and it needs a good cut and polish so i'm going to go over to autobarn tomorrow and grab a few different things.

I already have some of this (http://www.armorall.com.au/page.asp?strPage=PRODUCTS&intID=25&intID_Category=&strSearch=&lstVisit=) which i used to use for a wax after i washed my old car and worked pretty well.

Just wondering if someone can recommend me a good cut & polish to use that isn't too rough on the paint? And also something to protect the paint as i've heard that the honda red fades a bit.

There was a good thread in the appearance section about paint care. I will see if I can find it.

Yeah i did a search but couldn't find that much.. maybe i wasnt looking hard enough :)

I think I might give it a good wash, and if it doesn't look like it needs a cut after that i might just polish it up with the stuff i already have, but i would still like some kinda paint protectant.

okay... heres waht you have to do...
go to autobarn, buy Meguiars Nxt Gen washing stuff...
Meguairs NXT Gen Tech Wax,
Autoglym Super Resin Polish, and
Autoglym Extra Gloss protection.
also get a microfible polishing cloth, and a big applicator cloth.

heres what happens next

*wash ur car with meguiars washing stuff.. i dunno the name :p
*dry it somehow... old clean towel, chamois, whatever.
*move the car into shade... eg. garage
*apply an even layer of Autoglym Super Resin Polish
*leave for 20 mins
*buff off
*apply an even layer of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection
*leave for 45-60 mins
*buff off
*apply an even layer of Meguiars NXT GEN Tech Wax
*leave for 10 mins
*buff off and adore

this formula will have the water beading from ur car for a good few weeks, and for at least a month, to get it back to its amazing shine, you just have to wash it... no polishing.. just a wash..

Heres an example of the above stuff used on my mates AU Tickford Enhanced Forte.. we did all of the above but we didnt use the Extra Gloss protection as it was getting dark.. pretty soon, probably after exams, i'm gonna do a DIY to this... but atm i cant be screwed... hope i helped!!

i use meguiars nxt generation wash, meguiars polish, and meguiars nxt generation wax pretty much in the way iceman said to do it, i also use a wash mitt, chamois and terry cotton cloths throughout the process...
