I have a D16 that i want to turbo, and Im wanting to know if n e 1 on this forum can make a custom exhaust manifold. I'm trying to do it on a budget, so the manifold design is very simple to do. I just wanna see if it'll be cheaper to get one made up from someone on this forum instead of going to an exhaust shop. Thanks

just buy one from honda-tech or ebay. a simple log runs ~100 +ship. i bought my manifold and wastegate from oversea's, much cheaper then local.

i believed weq got his items from d-series.org, honda-tech.com and ebay

parts are much cheaper in usa cos honda is the back bone of the import scene over there

yeah i reckon you're better of buying one or at least take it to an exhaust shop, maybe they can do it and at least it make it look professionally done instead of cheap looking welds. lol

unfortunately, 99% of them will be obx/ssautochrome/stone mountain/xs power(different names, same pile of ****). Don't be tempted by their pretty looks and low price, they are absolute crap.

usually with manifolds and things of that nature you get what you pay for.
there are no big name companies in australia for this sort of thing really especially for honda's. the majority of kits you can buy here will be imported and marked up heavily.

if you dont want to import prepare to either have alot of hassels with a cheap crappy australian mass produce item or pay the dollars and get a custom job done.

if you are going to buy an import item, try and go direct to cut out the middle man and save yourself heaps of cash

I had this manifold custom made for me by a guy in Canada if you're willing to go oversees. Cost was a bit under US$500

that doesnt make sense mick, you either have an external gate or internal gate. it cant suit all t25/28 internal gates then say it requires either a 35 or 38mm external gate:rolleyes: .

anyway looking at the pics it's suited for an external gate;) .

that is an ssautochrome manifold... badged however it may be(generally either ssac, obx, xspower, or stone mountain racing, although as seen in qballs thread, it seems some people in aus land are trying to pass them off as their own), it's an absolute piece of shit and a complete waste of money

Consider the HKS cast iron maifolds. You should be able to obtain one for ~$250 USD.

They are no longer listed on HKS website, but they are still available.

They don't flow the best, but the price is right, and they are relatively strong.

you can find tons of logs and semi-tubular manifold in the states for around that price that will flow a lot better and offer a lot more choices as far as turbo selection goes
