Ummm... seeing as honda sells the B16A belt for 90 bucks, I can't see them charging 5 for labour.

Name of the Honda dealer please - I have some work for them on my Civic.

Can someone tell me at what intervals should the timing belt be changed?

100,000km and 200,000km?

A mechanic did mine. I bought the timing belt from Honda for $70 and he did the labour for $70.

$450 is an absolute joke.

Why would I lie about it? I got it done @ Doncaster Honda (Melb). I've even got my invoice right next to me. Although I only have a D16Y4, but I dun think timing belts any different?! Maybe the customer service guy gave me the wrong price! :p

Guys you have to realise the effort that’s involved in changing the timing belt. It’s a 2.5hour job at least. You have to take the rocker cover off and drop an engine mount to get the belts off.
