A friend has a Drift Oil pressure gauge on his B16A.

Problem is, that it plays up. It goes to 5 bar, sits there and close to redline it jumps to max. Then at idle sometimes it just "dances" around.
Both sender and gauge were changed (warranty) and it did the same thing.

Is this the gauge or can it be some other problem? Maybe oil pressure is too high and is stuffing the gauge/sender???

Was it professionally installed? Maybe an installation problem.

well my Autometer gauge does nothing like that.
when at idle it sits at around 30psi then when reving it goes to 95psi and stays there.

sounds like a crapy gauge problem. I've never heard of "Drift" guages and i couldnt find anything on google.

Do you know where the oil sender unit was mounted?

No it's not that one.
It looks like the defi range of gauges (tinted window thing)

And the sender is mounted where the head of the engine is where the oil passage is or something

Ok now that sounds like it could be a problem but that doesn’t give me a real good description of where it is. Did they use a T-piece adaptor and put it where the original oil sender unit is? It might be in a weird place and that’s why it’s giving strange readings?

yeah i'm sure you need that t piece for presure and temp unless you have an adaptor that sits on the oil filter...
