I am assuming this is a gen 2 crx ? Just look out for the normal stuff like rust, accident, engine bay, brake pads, tyres, etc etc. Also ask if it comes with RWC and if it had full service books. Just the general stuff.. Make sure you call up vic roads to check if its under finance/stolen as well. Do not leave a deposit until u have done that. And if you feel like u need more help, u can probaly get a mate to go along with ya.

Dont call VicRoads, call RTA since you are in NSW..

Or a REVS check

RTA and REVs check are a must, followed by a full inspection to check the chassis and engine.

If it's unmodded you are lucky - so many aren't nowadays :)

how many k's on the engine?

who cares? I hit 260,000 on my EF9 last weekend on the way back from Victoria - If the engine's been treated right then KMs shouldn't matter too much :)

BTW - it's the original stock B16A as was released with the car.

Don't be so nearsighted! - I've got 207odd on my d16a8, had it pulled down at 200 and they just reassembled it and sent me on my way.

My point was the cars condition. Has the timing belt been changed? Dealer service history, receipts? Whats the condition of the suspension, exhaust, rust in sills and boot, etc. Sure, you can get skewed numbers from engine swaps, dash swaps and dodgy backyarders, but chances are it is accurate.

I've yet to have any Honda fail under 250K Kms - that includes an accord with 260, quite a few first gen Civics, 4th gen Civics etc - it's not nearsightedness - it's simply experience. Known facts on all on original engines.

Now go back and read my previous post where I stated "followed by a full inspection to check the chassis and engine" and then take your knee-jerk reaction and shove it thx.

Gee, sorry you took it that way, no harm intended. I hadn't seen your post when I asked how many k's. Thats all. And I'm agreeing with you on Honda engine quality - I stated that previously, no rebuild required.
