its a aircon hose, and air on a dc2r was optional
oh thanx Jomsy, yeh i ws talking about that black tube i highlighted in photoshop, not the strut brace.
BTW, is it me or does it look like theres only 3 cables running from the spark plug cover in the 2nd pic. Maybe its just the angle the pic was taken from.

I see 4 cables, and that tube is an A/C tube. A/C was a $2000+ option on Type R's

thats some gangster strut bar ICACHA. it holds the engine to the radiator yea. to prevent engine flex....?

This doesnt like like a Type R. No Strut brace, No 'chrome' oil cap...

Well its definatly a dc2 (radiator/MC), and its not a b18c2 (I/M)
I say he sold the strut and replaced the bling cap mAtty :p
engine bay looks resprayed... no grease/dirt anything anywhere.... And if there was a strut fitted it would have left marks of where it was.

the pipe shown is the optional AC line (inlet or return) to the cooler box.
That sums it up
