hi guys, dont know if this has already been covered or not apologies if it has, but i was just wondering with all the talk about people swaping motors and the most favorable being the B18C i was just wondering what is the diffrences between our "aus spec" ITR motor and the "jap spec" ITR motor, is the power and performance diffrent. Im only asking cause i hear alot of people saying they imported & swaped JDM ITR motors in there cars, whats the problem with ours??? Im not hating on any one who's done JDM swaps in there cars im only asking cause i myself would like to do a B18C transplant myself and would just like to know if i should go home grown or import?

I always thought DC2R JDM and AUDM were the same besides the JDM coming with no air con and stuff like that.

DC5R is different, 147 kw Vs 168 or 163 kw if I remember correctly

The compression is marginally higher and power is approx. 132kw for VTi-R/SiR-G, once again a change due to our 98ron PULP fuel whereas Japan has 100ron PULP. It's a similar story of a few kw for Type R also, JDM makes 149kw. Check out this link for the full comparison:
