Hey guys,

I borrowed my GFs car yesterday, and she had mine for the day. She was saying how mine felt 'wierd', but I thought it was just the difference in cars.

I hopped in it this morning, and realised what she was saying - it seems my clutch is catching later than it used to, or that I remember. Her car ('90 Toyota Corolla Seca) seems to catch a lot earlier than mine does now.

Is there a way of getting my clutch to catch earlier?

if its a hydraulically operated clutch afaik there is no way to "adjust" the friction/grab point. What you have is what you get.

Maybe upgrade to a heavier clutch/pressure plate might give you a better feeling ?

change to a new clutch.... it it "catches" later it just means that its worn thinner... so it'll take longer before it "clamps" and engages

I had been thinking of a new clutch, but I'm not ready to fork out for one - I was hoping that it wasn't on the way out.

When I do go a new one, I'll be looking aftermarket as well as short shifter...

yeh so basically the further out the friction point indicates how much meat you have left on your clutch
