changing heads

wasup guys just wanna ask if it's at all possible to swap heads while keeping the same block, i've got a EG8 "sohc D block", as far as i know in the D block they use a 1.5 sohc non vtec "gli", 1.5 sohc vtec "vei", 1.6 dohc non vtec"si", 1.6 dohc vtec"vti". Would it at all be possible for me to interchange either the SI or the VTI head on to my D block since we use the same block?? Would it even be worth it, i'll be turb charging it soon after if it so.

i believe all D blocks are interchangable like all B blocks.
I don't think there is much use changing the deads unless your head has problems.
If your going turbo your better off spending your money on strengthening the internals.

cant change to the si head (DOHC), gli and vti heads will be fine bcos they are all sohc, but u will need the wiring loom and the ecu for vtec work with the vti. do a search for 'mini-me' conversion. bolt on 20hp if i remember right, and its quite affordable if u can source the parts.

umm..i think the vti from the EG shapes came dohc vtec as far as i know, the vei is sohc vtec, cause i was speakin to a freind and he was saying yes the head could still fit is he full of shyt??

no eg's came with dohc vtec. VTi is SOHC vtec, VEi is also SOHC vtec but more towards fuel efficency....

you are thinking of the EK VTi-R which is DOHC Vtec

only two egs came with the b16a2 (twin cam 1.6 vtec) both are from japan and were never released here

as for swapping head, a 1.6 sohc non vtec head CAN be replaced with a sohc vtec head, very popular in the US.

So this can only be done on D16 SOHC non Vtech to D16 SOHC. WHat about D15B7 non Vtech to D16 Vtec SOHC. Thanks.
