Hey all, just need some info on removing the stock front rotors for a civic vtir coupe? I finally received my front brembo drilled rotors after 2 months of waiting :D but I dont know how to loosen the screws to remove the orginal rotors :(
I know how to move the caliper to get to the rotor but cannot loosen 2 philips screws (situated between the lugs) to take it off. I've tried using wd40 and an electric screw driver. Because of the heat, im guessing the screws are going to be extremely hard to remove. Any recommendations on how to remove the screws?

a impact drill will take those screws out nps.
Otherwise , apparently you can actually use the other two screws that you took out first ( with alittl bit of paitn on them sometimes) - insert them into the 2 empty holes on the disc surface and turn them until it frees the discs from the hub.

is an impact drill, one of those screw drivers where u hit it with a hammer and it moves the screws?
my rotors only came with two screws, the other two holes in between the lugs are empty.

an impact drill , is simpyl a larger more powerful power drill. ( the internal workings are like a hammer hitting the shaft or something ?!?) Anyway , this should take those 2 bolts out nps ( 6mm i think).
The other 2 empty slots , are there to insert 8mm bolts to aid the removal of the disc.

most drills do have torque settigns as to NOT strip bolts / screws etc :)
But , whatever your go please take care :)

Thanks for your help bennjamin :), i did use the torque setting.... maybe i still had it too high though...
what is a impact driver? i spoke to my dad and he said it was a screw driver u hammer to loosen screws... i spoke to a friend and he said it was like the airpowered guns they use in formula 1 to take off the wheels. which is it  ??

its basically a screwdriver u can smack the shit out of to get off rusted and stuck bolts. but what you do is hold it in the direction of which u wanna turn and u hit it.then the force made by hitting the hammer on the driver it makes torque and unscrews the bolt.

arhhh ok... thanks for that buddy, that's heaps helpful :D
if i was to stuff the screw up, while attempting to take out the rotor... i'd be pretty much screwed right :( ?? and pay a huge amount $$$$ to take off the rotor?

if you want to loosen the screws use a flathead screwdriver and put the piont bettween the edge of the screw head and the metal of the disc then hit it with a hammer on the end. worked for me and it loosens the screws quite a bit, no risk of stripping it then. this may be hard to understand but i can't think of a better way to describe it sorry i got pics but can't find them right now.

I still CAN'T TAKE OFF the rotor! it's in there tight as hell.
It's warped the tip of the impact driver, not to mention stripped a bit more off the rotor screw. Im positive its turning the right way to unscrew it (anti-clockwise), the only problem is, its not unscrewing.
My dad says, hammering the screw with the impact driver hard will stuff up the wheel bearings, is that true??
Any idea guys??

Can't believe I missed this thread.
You shouldn't have used an 'impact driver' on that screw. You should have just given that screw/rotor a few good hits to loosen it up, maybe sprayed some WD40 and then used a propper screwdriver with enough force to get it loose. If that didn't work, maybe a powerdrill with a driver bit (none of that cordless shit........a proper electric drill) to get it out.
Have you had a look at this -> http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16308&highlight=rotor
If you've damaged the head of that screw........you will most likely have to drill it out, but be careful not to damage the hub in the process.

Thanks buddy for the info :), but i've tried wd40 and hitting it a few times to loosen it.... but its not working :(

I really doubt it. It can seem hopeless with the impact driver but whack it till it eventually comes lose just make sure thesetting is on the right waydont worry about the screww it will widen a little bit but u wont have any probs if ur impact driver srew thing???is the right size ie not oversized for the screw head * umm all this talk about screws.......*
