not so sure if theres a thread about this but i couldnt b bothered searching..

anyways just wondering those who have clear tail lights, does water go through when it rains or when you wash the car??

if so, wots the best option to go about on blocking the leakage?? silicone?

a lot of the aftermarket lights are cheap and companies sell them for a fair bit. so prolly just not sealed well.

put your standard ones back in... looks HEAPS better

i had leaks in mine. I drilled a small hole in an inconspicuous (spelling?) lol place to let the water that got in drain out, coz it sure as hell wouldnt go back through where it had leaked in, then i used clear silicon to seal the entire outside of the light. i packed it all right in so there were no blobs of silicon just sitting round, and it looks as if it were brand new.

Weird.. i've had no problems with my tail lights... Occassionaly I get afew little moisture drops around the edge.. but it dries up straight away... Where did you get your lights.. and how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking..

Mine were from some online site and were about $320 over a year ago..

through the actual lights or through into the boot?

water leaks into boot but it actually goes to the bottom wher my spare tyre is located so my boot doesnt get so saturated but the bottom does.. but its a bitch wen it constanly rains coz it tends to fill up.. i have 2 use the vacum at the car wash places to get all the water out lol

the "drill hole" idea is great..... all u have to do is drill a hole inside the boot...then get a hair dryer and heat the light from the outside/leave in sun....eventually with patience it all evaporates through the hole

seals dont do nuffin.. ive put silicone behind my clear taillights in every way possible where water can get in, plus the foam seal padding u get like behind the oem lights, n yet water goes inside it (only on right side though). The left hand side i didnt even seal any gap or nuffin n no water goes through, theyre aftermarket so theyre just originally made of cheap build, not much u can do..

ooooohhh it goes inside your car? I thought you meant inside your tail light. Umm yeah the factory lights come with this rubbery seal thing that fits behind the light to make a seal. You could prolly get some from a wreckers pretty cheap, or from honda themselves. The original honda seal should fit your new tail lights and should be easy to come around.

yeah as the foam seals get old, they go all hard and crack due to the dirt n water it collects and dont seal as effectively like wen new

da reason that it would be leaking is because you either have no gaskets between the lights and the boot or very cheap ones. i may have a spare pair lying around somewhere i will let you know if i do

well if they are in good order and working properly then your problem is somewhere else? I dont really see how healthy gaskets couldnt work, unless theyre attached incorrectly. There is a definate way they go in and you tail lights may not be on tight enough.

i used brand new seals with my clear lights n i got water in em still... it jus all depends on how good the make is

*also with the seals u could jus simply get the same material n trace n cut it out from the original , it will do the same thing
