1. wind the window down, and check it the rubber seal has any foriegn objects get caught in between. Clean it off.

2. If it is from the inside the door penel, u need to remove the door penel and do more investigation.. I havn't done it myself before. I guess Honda service people can check it out for u too.

electric window or manual?
It is probably sound of the motor, if it is electric..

You'll burn the motor's out soon enough, cheaper to spray them then to replace the motors!

My windows squeek, use silicone spray, does the job!

speaking of windows, my driver side window is scratched really bad..
Does anybody here know what causes this ?? is it common with you guys ???what needs to be changed ??? are there seals or something that goes inside the door trim to protect the window ???
I remember rubber seals peeling off over time, but this occured after the scratches

you can use silicone spray.. or a rubber care spray.
i'd prefer rubber care spray.
i find that rubber care works better.
plus that's what the workshop uses.
lol.

my driver side window is driving me nuts! i dont even pull the window down when there are girls in the car cuz of the squeak.
i've used silicon spray like the pic above but still sqeaks and seems to be bcause the rubber is rubbing against the window. this onli happens when goin down.

that could be caused by the window seal on the top outside or inside, some one could have removed it before either for tinting or replaced the window

check the trim is sitting on properly and that the clips are not clipped on incorrectly they could be sticking out and scratching your window/s

I wouldnt use WD40 lol, it could dissolve the window tinting.

IMO Graphite Powder is the best to use. The grease sprays can attract dirt and seize up the Windows.

sits in the sun often?? the rubber strip across the window hasnt gone hard???

Riviera
27-08-2007, 08:14 AM
these window squeeks can be caused my numerous things

grit caught up in the trims

dry hard trims + grit

dry window guides

trim clips protruding from either when a aftermarket sound system was installed/tinting etc...

diagnose your problem and put that in your post

there could be a few things you may have to do but if u diagnose what it is first
you wont have us saying is it coming from 'here' or is it coming from 'there'??

u got a CD5??? check the door seals, if its not the door seals check the
weather strip on the pillar part of the door the black part it might just
cause a whistle and the wind whips past it... i dunno where to get that replaced...

Grab some Graphite Powder from an Auto Accessories shop such as AutoOne, SuperCheap etc..

Try to avoid using liquid spray as it can attract dirt and get worse later on.

Yup, graphite powder is much better! You can get that from bunnings.

If you still want silicone spray, bunnings has that as well in the tool section.
