Hi guys,

I have a silly problem (feel like such a novice asking this). I have an ek civic hatch and need to put it up on jack stands (never done this before on this car). Under the side skirts are the jacking points, but if I jack the car up from there it is the same position as where I would put the jack stands. So my question is, where do I jack the car up from to put jack stands under it, and where should I put the stands themselves? (I assume I put the stands on the shallow metal ridge just beside the jack point no?)

Any pictures/diagrams would be much help.

Thanks in advance for the assistance :o.

You jack the car up from the jack points...

The wheel stands are placed on your axels/control arms near your brakes (well thats where i put them and its been fine)

Yer what he said, if u're jacking the front, put the jack under the gear box, that way you don't have to jack both side separately

I used to just use a piece of wood on top of the jack to spread the weight and just find something pretty hard under there. What they said above is probably a better idea though ;)

There is another point on the front cross member......its just a bit off centre (more to the passenger side) on an EG.......and I would assume DC2 also.
