hey guys, im really close to getting myself a set of chrome 17 inch wheels (very excited). I was going to go for lightweight 5 spoke wheels, but they were too small to suit my car, so Ive found a set of XHP N-1s that are 5 spoke and chrome so the best of both worlds! lol Anyway, being 3 inches above factory issue wheels, they will need an engineers certificate to be legal. Im just wondering out of you who have 17 inch wheels who have got an engineers certificate for them, how much trouble it is and how much it costs?

i dont know anyone who has got 17s and an engineers for them also..wouldnt u only be allowed to get an engineers for them if you were to upgrade your brakes for extra power? thats how it goes in melb. well i have 17s on my car but of course they arent engineers, nor will they suppose to be on the car in the first place..but yea, good luck on your quest.

its not the rim size its the rolling diameter of the whole wheel, i got 17s as well but the rolling diameter is exactly the same as my stock wheels since i got really thin Lprofile tyres (35). u don need EC for wheels unless u have really bad luck like i did once but 9/10 cops wont say anything about wheels. if u do get that 1/10 cop that tries to be rambo then just pay $20 and clear the defect at ur local mechanic its not worth paying $100+ for rim ECs.
