Hey all,

over the last 2 days once ive just started the motor im hearing this squeeking sound from the engine. It sounds like somethings that is spinning, im thinking pullies but im not sure. Its coming from the left hand side of the engine and it only happens for a few seconds. I know i my CV boots need to be replaced, could that be the problem?

squeaking? need more info...well i had same sort of thing i gues its liek a lil bit and goes away itl jus be a belt like air con or powersteering of alternator or at worst ur timing belt get it checked out dude ..although my air con one squeeked coz it was a lil loose and eventually fell off i cut it and my car drove much much smoother coz less things to turn..but who cares its winter i didnt need air con..as for urz get it checked out

oh that would be sweet, it would give me an excuse to get this typeR ive been eying but i doubt its gears.

As for more info, my driveway is really steep, it happens just after i turn out of my driveway onto the road. Its like a squeek..squeek..squeek..squeek..squeek..squeek..sq ueek..squeek..squeek..squeek in very fast succession like something thats spinning and it gets faster before it stops

could be bearings.. i think the best thing would be to get a mechanic to have a look.. hopefully it isn't too costly.. best of luck mate

It may even be something a little grease will fix - difficult to diagnose over the net though.

i wouldn't have a clue these days.. my dad changed the bearings off our 89mod accord Si about 6 years ago for around $90..

so its only increased by $10 in the past 6 years, thats not too bad mate. But really the best thing to do is to have it professionally checked out. If your in Syd p.m me so I can arrange my brother to have a look at it, he's a mechanic by trade.

Cheers,
Alfy.

Get it checked out straight away!!!!
Well I didnt pay any atention to my squeaky noise until it was too late. The idle pulley had somehow worked itself loose and fell off causing the air conditioning belt, and alternator belt to be shredded up by this idle pulley bouncing around in my engine bay.

It didnt cost too much to get fixed more of a ****er when it happens at 11:00 at night on the freeway and you freak out about this sound coming from your engine bay. :thumbdwn:

ha ha for sure must have come out of the same spare parts bin ;)

Well a bit off topic but i purchased a MoTec M4 pro about 2 weeks ago, and just picked up some spoon cam gears today, hmmmm spoon. Next is some spoon cams and then im putting together a turbo kit. I have a few contacts so i figured id use them.

so have you found what the squeek is yet.

could be nuthing more than an anoying loose belt, or more serous to a water pump or dizzy. I have also seen noisy power stering pumps in my time. get it looked at so it wont cost you more in the long run.

yeah its booked in for next week so ill have them check it out, the sound has disappeared, but it is sometimes noticable just as a start the engine and rev it from idle. I noticed it today when i rev'd it a bit when the car was cold
