I hardly ever take the rpms above 5000 but about 2-3 times aweek i give my engine abit of 'hard driving' (meaning i shift at 7000-8000rpm). i love "vtec'in" it but i'm just abit worried i might be shortening the engines life.
I keep the car well mantained. oil change every 5000kms. other fluids + filter every 10,000kms.

will it be ok???

vtec engines are made for high revs...
by the sounds of things, you do look after it so it should b fine with it!!

IMO if it was damaging or shortening your engines life, honda wouldnt have enabled you to rev so high. its there for a reason. use it.

how long is a piece of string ? *THINK about it*

There isnt anythign to worry about guys. If your engien is well maintained and is not taken to redline or mis-shifted constantly it should last for a looooong time.

be happy you own a honda which can take qutie abit of what bad drivers give it.
