Alright... the VAFC has long been a source of debate..... some say blingy blue screen... some swear by it

So here's my personal dyno history, on the SAME dyno

1. EK4 + Intake = 89.9 KW

2. EK4 + HEADERS + CATBACK = in the region of 95KW

3. EK4 + the above dyno tuned by mr pornstar (who wasnt impressed with my soldering technique)... 100.7 KW

just wanted to share some results

nice.... does "in the region of" 95kw mean you had it dynoed at that or are you just guessing?

Nice solid gains tho, 10kw over stock

I bet it feels much better through the whole rev range tho hey?

to the queries

1. YES it WAS ON THE SAME DYNO

2. wlee i pmed u

3. calculating the exact gains....

it was about a 5kw-8kw gain... the car was actually fluctuating all day making it hard to calculate EXACTLy (we did about 35 dyno runs)

what you guys should see is the power curve...

u know how I/H/E is only meant to give a bit of top end power or low end power?

andy shifted my WHOLE curve above my original... the final result almos tlooks exactly like the stock curve without the dip before VTEC... BUT it all moved 10 KW UP!!!

wish i coudl show u pics

i didn't think that tuning the car makes such a difference!

I would really like to see your car dyno'd 2 weeks or a month after tuning. Just to answer the speculation that OBD2 with VAFC detunes itself back to stock settings after a certian while....

yeah.. this is what I heard also.. but cannot confirm...

at WOT the map will always be altered by the VAFC.

**Ghost**

yes the whole difference was there in the tuning.... nto going to quote u a price... u'll have to ask pornstar on ur application...

and as to the OBD2 "forgetting" i can prove that it doesnt simply by putting the VAFC on "monitoring" mode and on the "corrections" graph.... that'd let me see if the VAFC was still correcting the OBD2

5-7 kw difference doesnt sound like much i know... the difference that was amazing was the dyno graph... basically my entire stock graph moved upwards... no "just top end" gain...gained throughout the rev range consistently

are you serious, does the tuned settings return to normal after a certain time, even with the vafc2 still attached?

Can you feel a difference when you drive? if so can you describe it? eg. more torque lower down and more responsive.

the tuned settings do NOT return to normal...

the difference to drive is very very clear especially in vtec..... whereas before in when ur car reaches vtec its a "jerk" and the car seems to "struggle" as u rev it to the redline (and no my car is not in bad condition).... now its a smoof ride all the way to 8000rpm

Yeah thanks for that buddy :)

Maybe i should get one of these, my car feels like it struggles when reaching vtec, however my car is completely stock.... do you think its worth getting one of these when your car is stock?

mmz.. a mate got his done on his accord-- retuned etc.. and pulled off an extra 5 kw
not too bad i think... downside.. if u wanna go back stock.. u need to retune it back to stock.$$$
like when u wanna take out the VAFC

hmm maybe worth an investment lol

keric... dont get it when its stock man...

u r basically tuning Air/Fuel ratio... each I/H/E mod u do is going to increase/change ur airflow by some degree and u have to retune each time

u might as well spend the 500 bucks on i/h/e first then tune it with vafc... cos then it gives the vafc more potential (from ur mods) to exploit..

since u drive an em1 tho....i'm not sure if u need a VAFC2 or not cos u run obd2B... irun obd2A

tru dat... get it all and then get it tuned... unless ur wanting to stop then

but i think u wanna keep goin huh... 35 dyno runs?!? hahaha woahHHH

wats next??

hahahaha 35 dyno runs = half a tank of fuel... my car was panting and sweating by the end of it.... had to leave it for 10 minutes to cool down at one stage

whats next.. i dunno i've done all the performance mods i initially planned to do when i got the car bar a front lip... i was going to do a rear lip but now i cant cos my exhaust is too big :(

probably my next mods is going to be cosmetic

ummmm fro a BALLpark figure i reckon ur looking at between 200-300 bucks... ur VAFC would cost u aorund 200 bucks if u search for 2nd hand ones
