Ultimate Sound Sytem

Hey guys. to all those audiophiles, whats a super ultra loud with extra happy bass system that money can buy? I want a system, that has so much bass, the car could fall apart, and be so loud, that people miles away car hear you.

I want to go 2 X rockford fosgate 12inch subs, is this enough? or is there something that is more powerfull ? budget would be around $4000.

(oh yeh and the headunit + speakers would all be top of the line, apline\eclipse headdie, focal speakers, not sure about amp)

also, whats a good shop in melbourne to get this done ? so far the only place that i know of is tower audio...

tower audio??? man pls dun tell ur going there for ur audio installs? wolf autodesign is very good, the workshop is in clayton next to DNA Bodyworks, TOP audio installer

btw with 4k, u could go for orion audio, buy the top of the range 12"sub and the top of the line amps, i can ensure u even ur brand new euro WILL fall apart, lol, this system is banging to the max!! boston splits r very good i reckon, good sound clarity, if combined w the orion ur sound system will fockin rock man

umm if u want alot off bass get 2 x DD 9510e and a big ass amp runing them @ 1ohm heeh then u will have bass:) or sompthing like that :)

hmmm.....want bass??? i heard the titanium 15" sub from eclipse gives out really hard core bass!!!! from shop install two of them in a little daihatsu (some funny looking car, small like the mini) and you can see literially the body wooping ehahehaeha funny stuff, but yeah, the eclipse subs are not bad ethier :D

i've got:
top of the line eclipse head unit (CD8051)
eclipse alluminium sub (Sw8122dvc)
focal speakers (165kf's and 690hc's)
Eclipse Pa5422 amp about 500rms
Alpine Mrd-501 amp about 500 rms

all in my euro.

Sound quality is great... but by the sounds of it you want spl.

Stick with the upper model eclipse head unit and get 8V pre-outs like i do it makes a huge difference to volume and SQ IMO.

To be honest tho i think you'll be dissapointed with a focal setup. I'm powering mine at 85 watts rms at 4 ohm andn that kind of power at audiophile level is approaching 1g. I got some pretty good prices on the parts for my system and even then the amp that powers the focals + the focals themselves was around $1500.

I got my sub for about $550 (retailed over 800 originally), alpine amp for about $550 (retail 700 or so) and headunit also for about $550 (retail over 1g originally).

+ all of the installation costs + making the box + wiring + the cost of getting a face plate for the headunit in the euro. Just don't expect HUGE volume coupled with great sound quality for 4 grand in a euro.

Summin up 4g will get you plentiful volumne and awesome sound quality .. but it you want rediculous volumne levels at 4g your gona have to sacrifice a lot of SQ.

And don't forget much more over 1000 watts rms total and your lookin at new battery and a capictor maybe even a new alternator which is over $1g on its own.

wow cool thanks heaps for your input guys. i just wanted some honest advice from fellow 'people', as if i ask the shop people, of course there going to tell me to buy their products.

and i dont want JUST bass, i also want good sound quality, but i also want to at least have the option of pumping my music so loud my car will fall apart. i actually dont listen to my music that loud, im not a "fully sik wog" who needs to tell the world ive got a subwoofer :P

also, what other good audio shops are there, so far wolf autodesign has been mentioed. any others?

you are correct rockford fosgate were a very good brand up until they switched manufacturers a few years back to cut cost. Since then i haven't looked twice at their products but hey maybe the new manufacturer has cleaned up their act since then? :confused: :confused: :confused:

have you had a look at Soundstream? Check out the Tarantula subs if u can....900WRMS, dual voice coils and they are SO LOUD! Retail for $799 each, but if ur planning to get 2, you'll definately be able take a couple hundred off that price. With those 2, ur car will definately fall apart. And then the chassis will crack to bits. And then the earth beneath u will begin to move and you'll end up in china.
