My brothers been offered a 97/98ish CRX with ~70,000km on the clock for $13k.
I've not really kept up with the price of CRX's but it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. We know the owner and the history of the car - its definitely legit.
What do you guys think - a good price?
Cheers
Mike
i reckon its a damn good price...
yeah i rekon its a top price

yeh not too bad. not too familiar with the crxs, but in the trading post a couple of years back (when i was lookin for my first car) there was a completely done up crx (leather interior n all) for 8grand. But then as u could guess, most prolly had the crap flogged out of it. but then cost of new engine plus the crx itself is still about the same as 13k. Tho that is very low amount of ks. shop around and compare ey?

Guess it must be a 97 then ... my bro thinks that it was the last year of the CRX - he wasnt sure if it was 97 or 98.
no. its shit price. dont buy it. would you be able to give me the seller's contact number?? :D:D
its the best offer i;ve heard of so far..

Sounds like a pretty good price to me
Especially looking at the prices that other CRX's go for, even slightly older ones with slightly more ks go for a similar price
Take it! If not im sure some1 else will for that price

Well is the car an Australian delivered one?? As some of the Jap imports have the SOHC engine, these will sell much cheaper than Australian delivered ones with B16a. Also depends on the condition of the car, would still say get inspected by a professional as kilometers do not mean every thing.
But if its up to standard is an Australian delivered model with B16a I would say it’s a reasonable deal.

If so, I was thinking of getting it... at one stage... :(

Mine has 94 000kms 1995 model B16A, perfect condition milano red, and I paid $15500 and I reckon that was a steal, considering condition, it is very hard to find a car a CRX in the 90s for k's but to find under 80000kms is gold, depending on the condition of the car Id say get it now.

Why would any-1 want to let their car off that cheap if they could get more for it...unless of course they didn't know anything about value....then u score!
just make sure you check everything is legit as they say it is....if its all good, then buy it! From what i've seen, there isn't many 97 CRX's around....good luck with it:thumbsup:

Thanks to everyone that responded - as expected its seems to be a fantastic deal so I've told my bro to go ahead and grab it. I might be picking it for him up this weekend ...
Kandy ... it may be the one you looked at. The owners name is Jasmine and she's selling it because shes discovered its not the most practical car ... duh!! :p
The owner is my brothers ex-gf ... and I actually helped her buy the car from its previous owner (checked it out, test drove it etc). I cant remember what she paid for it though.
Mike
as long as the car is in good nick then, that sounds like a bargain....nioce one

Sounds too cheap, make sure it really is a legit AUDM '97 model, and the odo reading has not been tampered.

It does need a good service. Timing belt change and 100,000 service (over 5 years old) + the tappets were a bit noisy and blew smoke at the top end.
It’s funny because she turned down the 16k we offered her at the time. Then tried to get us to close at 16,500(saying this is what the car yard offered her in trade in).
Sounds like she's selling it for what the car yard really offered her in trade in for it.

Wow you guys are still at!! Thanks for all the responses. :)
And yes she's selling to a friend (my bro) at a discounted price.
I honestly don't know how much she was offered for trade-in ... but the way car dealers rip people off I wouldnt be surprised if it were less than that again!!
My brother should be picking it up tomorrow. I'll post pics then.
Mike
Ahhh sounds like a good buy man! Yep sometimes cars just have to go at such low prices.

My bro picked it up today guys ... haven't had a chance to drive it yet (except 2m down the drive so I could squeeze my car under the carport too!)
Build date is Jun '97 ... Aust compliance date is Feb '98.
So I guess no they didn't build CRX's in '98 ... but they were sold in Aust as a '98 model!!
